Xbox 720 Launch Date Confirmed by Paul Thurott
According to Paul Thurrott of the Windows Super Site , the Xbox 720 launch date is the first week of November.
In this week’s edition of Windows Weekly at the 56:00 minute mark, Thurrott claims that he has on good authority that the Next Xbox will launch in the holiday quarter of 2013.
The next Xbox console will cost $500 for the standard model or $300 for the “subscription” model, and of course will require an internet connection, so poor old Adam Orth was right when he said to “Deal With It!”.
Orth leaving Microsoft has only managed to raise more questions. Firstly, we don’t know if he quit because of the controversy or whether he was fired for his mistaken reveal of the fact that Microsoft could indeed be adopting an “always online” console.
This is of course the best time to launch the Xbox as this ties into the American holiday season and will ensure that Microsoft has enough consoles ready for the worldwide demand.
The Xbox 360 launched on November 22, 2005, in the United States and Canada. In Europe it was launched on December 2, 2005, and December 10, 2005, in Japan. It was later launched in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, and Russia. In its first year on the market, the system launched in 36 countries, more countries than any other console has launched in a single year.
